That the school institution must be a space for coexistence in which the values of the respect for all the ideas, races, people and creeds, and values such as solidarity, tolerance and equality are learnt and practised.

That the active defence of these values is the responsibility of all of us, families, teachers, students, administration and services staff, that is, the whole community of the educational centres.

Considering
That the aim of the Project “The School, Promoter of a Culture of Peace” is focused on the diffusion of the ideas of peace, peaceful coexistence and no violence.

Considering
That the Culture of Peace requires that the community becomes aware of the conflicts which threaten it, both in our nearby environment and in the society in general.
|
Considering
That the Conferences for Peace have involved a privileged sphere to talk about the necessity to disseminate, defend and work for a Culture of Peace.
|
Considering
That in the societies governed by democratic values it is possible and necessary to develop the Culture of Peace and No Violence and to spread it to other societies in which the conflict, the war and injustices prevail.

This is why:

OUR DEMAND for the governments, institutions, political and financial organisations to invest their bigger efforts to assure a just, equitable and supportive order as a requirement for a Culture of Peace and No Violence.
|

OUR DEMAND for the associations, institutions and people who day by day work to spread a culture of peace at the risk of losing their lives demonstrating their altruism and generosity.
|
|
OUR WISH to live in a free fairer society which leads to get the common good, in which the human rights prevail over any kind of discrimination and in which hunger and other ills which threaten the most defenceless people disappear.
|
|
OUR REQUEST that the mass media assume the commitment on the diffusion and defence of the Culture of Peace and No Violence and that they offer themselves as a communicative platform to bring society these ideas.
|
|
OUR COMMITMENT to work actively on the Culture of Peace and No Violence in each individual activity as a guarantee for a more habitable world which can be bequeathed to our descendants.
